Softball
PLC Sydney take part in an Invitational Softball competition in Term 1. In 2024, this will only be offered to those who have represented PLC Sydney previously.
Senior School (Invitational) Overview
Membership: Years 10–12 via trials
Cost: $210, this amount will be billed to students’ school fees account.
When: Term 1
Training: A weekday before or after school, Drummond Field.
Game Days:
Softball matches are held each Saturday morning at various locations around the greater Sydney area, including at least one game at either Bowral and/or Erina, according to the draw, commencing on 10 February. The final round is due to be played on 6 April.
Arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the game start time. Own transport arrangements are to be made.
Sign in via team sheet, at the convenor's desk, upon arrival. To be eligible to play semis/finals, students must have played at least three games (signed on).
Duties - Each team is required to score for their own matches. Assistance by parents is greatly appreciated.
Uniform:
PLC Sydney black 3/4 Softball pants
PLC Sydney red short sleeved top
PLC Sydney long black socks with red/white trim
PLC Sydney visor or cap
Equipment:
Softball glove (recommended 11.5–12.5 inch minimum, larger if possible)
Shin guards (compulsory)
Mouthguards (highly recommended)
Football boots or hockey turf shoes are advised
Drink bottle and sunscreen
All other equipment is supplied
