PUBLIC SPEAKING & DEBATING

TOM

In Tournament of Minds (TOM) you will learn creative thinking skills. You will be involved with a dynamic group of students and be given many challenges along the way. You will often have to ‘think on your feet’ within a team environment and it will be FUN!

Senior School students will specifically focus on The Arts. You will have your chance to develop your own talents in: drama, set design, costume design, script writing and group work.

*Commitment: All participants hoping to compete need to attend lunchtime meetings regularly for the first semester. If you are unable to attend these meetings, you may not be considered for selection in a TOM team. Students hoping to participate in the Regional TOM must be available on the last weekend of August. Leading up to this tournament, students need to make themselves available for extra sessions before and after school and possibly on weekends. Students must be prepared to be in regular email contact with their teammates and facilitator. If successful at the Regional tournament, students also need to be available for training mornings/afternoons leading up to this competition. It will be held on the second Sunday of September.
