PLC Sydney provides Athletics training for students in Years 3–12, catering to beginners through to advanced athletes in both track and field events. Training is conducted at Sydney Olympic Park.
The Junior and Senior Athletics Carnivals are held in Term 2 each year. From these, students may be selected to compete at the IPSHA and IGSA Athletics Twilight meetings and main carnivals. Successful athletes can progress to NSW CIS, NSW All Schools, and the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships.
Athletes are also encouraged to participate in Athletics NSW events held throughout the year.
Membership: Years 3–6. Athletes not already affiliated with an athletic club are encouraged to become part of the Athletics NSW Club. Clubs local to PLC Sydney are Trinity Athletics Club, Asics Wests Athletics Club, Ryde Athletics Club or Balmain Athletics Club. Being part of Athletics NSW club allows students the opportunity to compete at external carnivals against other clubs.
